2012 Student Portfolio Review Afterthoughts

"Resume... check; business cards... check; completed portfolio book... CHECK!" I had everything I needed for the 2012 AIGA Student Portfolio Review. This would be one of my very first times having a group of design professionals to look at and critique my work. It's one thing to have your professors and peers who you see on a daily basis provide feedback, but to have actual real-life designers was another thing! I was excited, yet anxious to hear what they had to say about my work; be it good or bad. I've learned over the years as a graphic design student or student in general, that you should never take feedback given to you in a negative context. Take what advice is given and use it to your advantage.
